Born and raised in the North Jersey woods (won't say how long ago) I learned to appreciate the then dense hardwood forests of the northern Ramapo mountains. Started hunting and shot my first deer with shotgun at 14 years old, killed an eight point buck with a Ben Pearson lemon wood bow and arrow at 17 and have spent many years hunting the woods of Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont and New Jersey with a handsome catch of many white tails. From my first years in the woods I learned about good sharp knives, most fixed blade knives, but knives that I could depend on.
